Young EV automotive start-up with talent from across the automotive industry and other industries looking to execute a major electric vehicle project. Company looking to benchmark, develop and implement a cutting-edge vehicle development system with a target of executing vehicles in 24 months.
Implementation:
Within 4 months, we successfully completed a scale-able vehicle development system which included all deliverables and KPIs, the training of 250 team members, training for executive leadership, and distributed/permanently filed the required process documentation. System and process refinement continued and a significantly accelerated version of the development process was created that reduced execution time from 48 months to 24 months based on implementing Agile for hardware, enhancements to virtual design, hardware and ecosystem design and virtual validation testing for systems crashworthiness and full vehicles. Project was supported by Cornerstone’s strategic partner, David B Kandt Consulting.
Results:
1. Development Time reduced by 50%
2. Overall development savings estimated to be $150M to $180M
3. Training completed and implementation started for new project within 4 months
